As leader of the more than 2,000 member libraries in the NJ Library Network, the State Library takes a proactive and innovative approach in guiding libraries and providing information to foster a literate, productive and competitive New Jersey. NJ Libraries are also stepping up to help job seekers and small business owners during tough economic times.

We encourage you to learn more about our three bureaus: State Library Information Center, Library Development Bureau and the Talking Book and Braille Center. Each one has a distinct role in serving state government, libraries and the residents who call New Jersey home.

According to the American Library Association’s 2013 State of America’s Libraries Report, the answer is a resounding yes. Libraries have made many changes over the years as technology has evolved, and they continue to embrace new technologies that improve their ability to provide resources to the community, including social media.
