The New Jersey State Library, the third oldest state library in the United States, has offered the highest quality library service to state government since 1796. In 1996 the State Library affiliated with Thomas Edison State College and expanded its services to the college's staff and students. The research library's collections are a resource for all New Jersey residents. Holdings include more than two million volumes in a general collection and special collections in law, genealogy, New Jersey documents, Jerseyana, U.S. documents, rare books, maps and grant information for non-profit organizations.
