State Library Hours

Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Please note: Due to recent budget reductions, the New Jersey State Library has had to close for business on Saturdays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Library for the Blind and Handicapped Hours

Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (Closed Saturdays in July and August.)
Closed Sundays.

Genealogists please note: The State Archives (NJ Dept. of State) is housed in the Department of State Building at 225 West State Street. The State Archives is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Their holiday schedule, however, is the same as the State Library's.
