- Grassroots Fundraising Journal - A publication of the Grassroots Institute for Fundraising Training, the journal contains information about how to manage a nonprofit and conduct fundraising. It is available for free in print or through the organization's website.

- Foundation Center - Provides a wealth of information about starting a nonprofit, researching grants, and developing proposals. Select "Get Started" for detailed FAQs, free online courses, and reference guides. Click on "View Events for a list of upcoming and archived training sessions adn webinars (some free) to learn from experienced instructors.
- 990 Finder - Free access to 990 PF tax forms, which provide valuable information about the annual giving of foundations. Search by organization name, state, zip code, or EIN. Another source for 990 forms is the Economic Research Institute (990s are searchable by organization name only).
- WebJunction - The Grants and Grant Writing Information section lists information and presentations geared towards libraries looking for grant money and writing applications.
- Library Grants - List of library grant opportunities maintained by the authors of Grants for Libraries.
- Institute of Museum and Library Services - Gives details on the process of applying for IMLS grants, including how and when to apply.
- Michigan State University - This site, which is maintained by librarians, lists grants for libraries along with links to related websites.
