Statewide ILL Lender Reimbursement Program
Guidelines

All New Jersey libraries that are members of the New Jersey Library Network and JerseyCat are eligible to participate in the Statewide Interlibrary Loan Lender Reimbursement Program.

As in 2003, the reimbursement program will cover any eligible loan made anywhere in the state. An eligible loan is a transaction involving the lending of books and other materials and the provision of photocopies by a New Jersey Library Network member:

  • To a New Jersey library via JerseyCat
  • For which the lending library does not receive other fees or contractual payments

Reimbursements are for net loans (items lent minus items borrowed).

Reimbursement is ineligible for:

  • Loans between libraries that share an OPAC and circulation system
  • Loans from county libraries to their member libraries, whether or not they share an OPAC and circulation system
  • Loans to library branches
  • Loans that are reimbursed from any other source
  • Loans made through reciprocal or open borrowing arrangements (defined as the granting of borrowing privileges to the members of each other’s user groups by cooperating libraries).

The first 50 net loans are ineligible for reimbursement.

Total funding will be $75,000 for the period January 1, 2004 to June 30, 2004.

There is a minimum of $100.00 in reimbursable costs for a six-month period, to be eligible under the program for that six-month period.

Reimbursement will be at a maximum of $5.00 per net loan, depending upon availability of funding.
