
Library Network NewsNews ItemJun 29, 2010Seminar: Building Connections w Dementia &The Bloomfield Public Library is pleased to present a series of Health related seminars in the Library’s Conference Room. At 7pm, on October 13, the topic will be Creating Connections. Angel Duncan of Senior Helpers, will talk about finding meaningful activities between family members (caregivers) and those who have dementia or other cognitive impairments. There will be a discussion about what kinds of dignifying activities can be done, why it's important and how to be engaging. Angel C. Duncan is the Program Director for Senior Helpers. She has an extensive background in adult psychiatry and Alzheimer’s disease. She directed a national art therapy program for people with dementia, and has supervised caregiver support groups in the Northern California region.
