for 2008 in October 2008, each library can determine the amount of municipal
support necessary during 2009 to achieve particular per capita state library
aid categories ($.50 to $1.50). The support can include dedicated tax
payments in those counties where the municipality contributes to the
support of a county library system, expenses incurred by the municipality in
support of the public library not specifically appropriated to the
library, and the budgeted appropriation.
The total municipal support during 2009 is divided by the 2008 Equalized
Valuation in calculating the per capita aid to be paid in October 2010.
Based on the 2008 Equalized Valuation for your municipality
( $564,150,455), the minimum municipal support needed:
To earn $.50 per capita is $44,474
To earn $.75 per capita is $112,830
To earn $1.00 per capita is $141,038
To earn $1.25 per capita is $188,050
To earn $1.50 per capita is $282,075
The 1/3 mil funding level is $1.25. The alternate minimum for municipal
libraries is prior year 1/3 mill plus 15%, ( $212,240), and will
earn $1.25 per capita.
