Trustee Resouces: An Online Community for Library Staff & Trustees NJ State Library Trustee Institute "Our Trustees know the value of New Jersey libraries and have embarked on the mission to ensure that libraries will continue to be able to provide essential services to our residents. Attending The New Jersey Library Trustee Institute provides many of the tools that will help them to achieve their goals. And like New Jersey's libraries, our Library Trustees just keep getting better and better." -NJ State Librarian Norma Blake The New Jersey State Library, and its partners New Jersey Library Trustee Association and New Jersey Library Association, are committed to providing the highest quality of trustee education available. The Trustee Institute is part of our goal to train trustees to be knowledgeable about their responsibilities and to help them understand core competencies to improve their skills as trustees and therefore better advocate for their library. The next Trustee Institute will take place in Spring 2009. This new one-day conference format, held every 18 months, will feature two separate educational tracks for both new and seasoned trustees. Look for more information soon. Trustee Institute Handouts Hiring & Evaluating the Library Director The NJ State Library would like to thank our Trustee Institute presenters
