- The New Jersey Geological
Survey has compiled a collection of information
about earthquakes in New Jersey. This includes
a description of what earthquakes are,
past damage from earthquakes in NJ, geologic
faults located in NJ, and frequency of
earthquakes happening in NJ. The page also
provides general information about earthquakes
such as how to prepare for an earthquake,
what to do during an earthquake, and a
description of the Mercalli scale which
provides a measure of the magnitude of
a quake.

- This web site from the United
States Geological Survey provides an expansive
collection of worldwide earthquake information
and related topics. Up-to-date information
on the latest earthquakes, which are continually
occurring. Earthquakes facts and lists that
include earthquake photos, faults, a description
of plate tectonics, and earthquake "top ten" lists.
In addition there is information about preparedness,
prediction and probabilities. The site is
replete with maps and graphics to aid in
explanations.

World Data Center for Seismology. Provides
links to real-time earthquake and seismographic
information, an earthquake search feature,
information about the earthquakes that have
occurred during the current year, seismograph

to other earthquake information sources.

- The National Information Service
for Earthquake Engineering at the University
of California, Berkeley has compiled a database
of earthquake images. Searches can be performed
by a keyword, or browsable lists classified
by geographical name of where earthquake
occurred, name of structure affected or subjects.

of Michigan Documents Center. This site provides
information about the destructive tsunami
that struck on December 26, 2004, including

- A web guide to information
about the December 2004 tsunami disaster
prepared by the University of Buffalo. Information
includes links to news pages, images, maps,
