- American Board of Medical Specialties - Who's Certified?
- Verify a doctor's board certification status, and location by city, state and specialty. This web site requires free registration first.
- AMA Doctor Finder
- An American Medical Association site. Provides information on over 650,000 licensed physicians in the United States and its possessions. Searchable by name or specialty.
- American Hospital Directory
- Directory of hospital data and profiles. Some sections of this site require payment. Free data includes hospital contact information, hospital type, clinical services provided, number of beds, Joint Commission accreditation, and financial data.
- Find a Dentist - ADA
- The American Dental Association's Find a Dentist tool where you can search by type of dentistry, location and/or name.
- HealthCare.gov
- The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was passed on March 23, 2010. This web portal, from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides information about understanding the new law and has resources for individuals and employers. Includes help finding insurance options and determining which small businesses qualify for tax credits.
- HealthGrades
- This site provides ratings and profiles of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies. There is a charge for any detailed reports.
- Hospital Compare
- A quality tool from Medicare and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Search for a specific hospital by name or search for hospitals geographically. Compare up to 3 hospitals on a variety of care measures and see results of patient surveys.
- New Jersey HMO Performance Reports
- View HMO performance reports from the New Jersey Dept. of Health and Senior Services, Office of Managed Care. The site also has an HMO plan comparison tool and other information about consumer rights.
- New Jersey Health Care Consumer Assistance Program (HCCAP)
- This service assists individuals with disabilities in New Jersey with health care and insurance matters.
- New Jersey Health Care Profile: Physician, Podiatrist and Optometrist Profiles
- This site was developed by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs in consultation with the State Board of Medical Examiners. Profiles of physicians include education, practice information, legal actions taken, and professional activities. In the practice information section, a consumer can find information such as languages spoken by the physician and health plans accepted.
- New Jersey Licensed Acute Care Facilities
- Informational database about hospitals and other ambulatory health care facilities in New Jersey provided by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services. Search by name of the facility, county or type of service.
- New Jersey Monthly : Top Doctors 2009-2010
- Find a New Jersey top rated doctor - based upon an independent survey of the state's physicians. Search by specialty.
- Physician Finder
- Physicians who are members of the Medical Society of New Jersey are included. Searchable by physician name and by medical specialty. Before advancing to the search screen user needs to accept their disclaimer.
