American Psychological Association - Topics

Disability Statistics Center
Information on finding and understanding disability statistics. The resources link provides an extenisve listing of federal surveys and information sources on disability, as well as other information sources and disablity advocacy organizations.
Mental Health and Behavior - MedlinePlus
A topical listing from the National Library of Medicine that links to high quality, trustworthy online sources. Topics include Teen Mental Health, Dual Diagnosis, Anxiety, Postpartum Depression and many others.
Mental Help Net
A general guide to mental health. Includes latest news, information on disorders and treatments, and professional resources.
National Alliance on Mental Illness
A comprehensive site where you can find information on conditions, find local support organizations, and policy and advocacy information. Includes a link to special needs estate planning. You can also find links to state and local affiliates, such as the one in New Jersey.
National Institute of Mental Health
The main page of this extensive government site provides information on specific mental disorders, news and events relating to mental health, statistics, grants and contracts information, NIMH long range plans and research.
NOAH: Mental Health
New York Online Access to Health (NOAH) seeks to provide high quality health information for consumers. Many conditions and disorders are covered on this site.
Psych Central
A respected mental health site with a wide variety of resources. Includes lists of annotated web sites, quizzes, discussion lists, and a medication library where people share experiences with particular drugs.
School Psychology Resources Online
Provides online resources for the school psychology community. Although the page has not been updated in a while, many of the links to information on specific conditions, disorders and disabilities are still useful.

Directory of Health Organizations - DIRLINE
A finding tool from the National Library of Medicine to locate organizations focused on particular conditions. There is also a link to Health Hotlines toll free numbers for over 300 organizations.
HealthyNJ - Mental Health New Jersey Resources
Mental Health services in New Jersey as compiled by the HealthyNJ site from UMDNJ. HealthyNJ has also compiled a list of general County Resources.
Mental Health America
Mental Health advocacy organization. Find information on various conditions and sources to locate help. Find a therapist by zip code.

The National Mental Health Information Center provides resources by state.
National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY)
This site provides state-specific assistance for children with special needs. Includes state agencies, disability organizations and parents' groups.

This site provides information, a comprehensive resource guide which covers all states, and science news related to autism. Also has information on how to get involved in the community and with government entities.
Bipolar Disorder
The nonprofit organization, Pendulum.org provides current news coverage and other information on Bipolar Disorder.
Depression - A NIMH Resource
This web site from the National Institute of Mental Health provides a wide range of information and materials relating to depression. Topics on this site include depression and other illnesses, depression in men, women, children and older adults, bipolar disorder, suicide, and medications. The site also has information on meetings, clinical trials, and press releases.
National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
The National Center for PTSD web page offers many resources for populations who may be dealing with PTSD. Topics include information about treatment, diagnosis, coping, and where to locate help. Links to resources such as factsheets and videos. Links to the PILOTS database - an index to worldwide literature on PTSD.
