The Catalog of United States Government Publications indexes print and electronic government information products created by Federal agencies. Coverage from January 1994.
Catalogs, Indexes, and Databases
Alphabetical listing of general and subject-specific Internet catalogs, indexes and databases that include government sponsored literature. Subject access also available. Some indexes are available on the Web; others may be accessed in large federal depository libraries.
Consumer.gov
One-stop link to a broad range of consumer information sources available online.  Subject links to related federal websites are available. Links on frauds and privacy concerns including the Consumer Sentinel. The Consumer Action Handbook provides consumer tips and an assistance directory with names, addresses, phone numbers, and websites for consumer organizations.  A National "Do Not Call" Registry is coming soon.
Davis-Bacon Wage Determinations
Prevailing wage rate determinations on federally funded or assisted construction projects.  Search or browse access by state are available.
DocsCite
Program generating bibliographic citations in APA and MLA formats for government publications.  Another source is Citing Government Information Sources which provides instructions, examples, and useful links.
 
EnergyFiles
Virtual library of energy science and technology.  The DOE  Information Bridge with full-text DOE reports is available at this site.  PubScience has been discontinued.  Alternative sources are Energy Citations Database with bibliographic records for energy related information; Infotrieve which searches a broad range of scientific and medical journal citations and abstracts; and Scirus which covers a broader range of scientific information beyond journal literature.
ERIC - Educational Resources Improvement Center
Database of documents and articles in education from 1966 to date with free searching. On-site users at the NJ State Library may search and access full text ED Documents (1997+) at E*Subscribe.  Other users may use their full-text document order and delivery service at EDRS.
Federal Bulletin Board
Free electronic bulletin board service of the Government Printing Office. Provides public, self-service access to electronic files from various executive and judicial agencies.
Federal Depository Libraries
National directory of libraries receiving federal documents. US Documents Depository Libraries by County in New Jersey are also available.
Federal Telephone Directories
Links to agencies with names, phone numbers, mailing addresses, and email addresses.  Includes the U.S. Blue Pages with topical listings and the ability to find agencies in local areas.

GPO ACCESS
Government Printing Office access point to electronic government information products, federal web sites, locating and or purchasing government information products, and locating federal depository libraries. A good starting point is their A-Z Resource List.   It includes access by branch of government and topics as well as the capacity to search multiple databases.
GrayLIT Network
Portal to federal gray literature, ie technical report information from federally funded R&D, which is not distributed, accessed or published through normal channels.  It taps into the search engines of distributed gray literature collections.
Monthly Catalog of Publications (MOCAT)
Government Printing Office catalog, 1994 to present. Includes links to libraries selecting listed items and links to electronic information products.
National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information (NCCAN)
Resource for professionals on the prevention, identification, and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Includes publications, statistics, online databases and directories and links to related sites.
 
National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) Database
Subject index to over 160,000 publications in the Abstracts Database from 1970 to the present on criminal justice including federal, state, and local government reports, books, reports, articles and unpublished research.  1500+ online full-text publications from NCJRS and partner sites are also searchable.
National Technical Information Service (NTIS)
Searches over 500,000 records since 1990 in the NTIS collection of technical publications, datafiles, CD-ROMs, and audiovisual materials. Fee based access of over 2 million products back to 1964 with subject, author, agency, and date indexes is also available.   Products may be ordered from NTIS.
New Jersey State Library
State Library resources including the library catalog. It also provides links to other catalogs and libraries.
Scientific and Technical Information Network (STINET)
Clearinghouse for DoD unclassified documents from December 1974 to present.  Citations and some full text are available in the public version.  The secure STINET provides access to limited documents and more full text reports.
Statistical Abstract of the United States
Master statistical compendia from 1995 onwards in pdf format.
TRIS Online (Transportation Research Information Services)
Almost half a million records of books, technical reports, conference proceedings, journal articles, and on-going research in transportation.  Links to full text documents or to document suppliers are being developed.  Also available as a fee-based service including the ITRD Database and Research in Progress materials.
Uncle Sam - Migrating Government Publications
University of Memphis tracking of printed government publications converted to electronic format on the Internet. Provides URLs and links directly to the electronic document; includes many periodicals accessible by title.  Also accessible by SuDoc numbers.
U.S. Government Online Bookstore
Compendia of resources to find federal information products for sale.   Includes the Sales Products Catalog, a Subscriptions CatalogBookstore Locations, and the Federal Citizen Information Center which offers free or low publications.
United States Government Manual
Encylopedia of government agencies including their legal basis. Includes key documents. Both searchable and browsable, 1995 to present.
