Getting around with Google Maps

On March 27, Andrea Levandowski taught “You Don’t Know Google Maps,” an introduction to using Google’s popular mapping tool.  Many people are already familiar with Google Maps, but this class included some helpful tools and tips that often go overlooked.  In addition, this class covered the new version of Google Maps (which you can already preview) that will make the desktop version more consistent with the app for Android and Apple devices.

Raspberry Pi: The Raspbian (“wheezy”) Operating System

The second Raspberry Pi tutorial, held on Thursday, February 20, covered the recommended Raspberry Pi operating system called “Raspbian.” The session included a demonstration from John Mosser on using a motion sensor with Raspberry Pi and instruction on accessing the Raspberry Pi from anywhere in the world via the Internet.  In addition, there was a tutorial on the recommended Raspberry Pi

Searching for Obituaries at the New Jersey State Library

The “Searching for Obituaries at the New Jersey State Library” class was held on October 29. The class focused on using New Jersey State Library resources to find obituaries. Information was shared on accessing print, microfilm and electronic editions of various NJ papers. Attendees were also instructed on searching our databases for obituaries and related helpful information.
