New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has approved legislation that prohibits municipal library trustees from transferring donated funds to municipalities. The legislation, sponsored by Assemblymen Craig Coughlin and Daniel Benson, and Senator Joseph Vitale, ensures that municipal libraries will be able to retain all funds donated through charitable gifts.

War Stories at the NJ State Library

As part of the 150th commemoration of the Civil War, the New Jersey State Library presented an entertaining program by author/historian Joseph G. Bilby based on his book New Jersey Goes to War: Biographies of 150 New Jerseyans Caught up in the Struggle of Civil War. The book is the first publication of the New Jersey Sesquicentennial Commission.
