“For Love of Liberty: The Story of America’s Black Patriots” to be screened at NJ State Library

In observance of Black History Month and in honor of African-Americans who serve our country, an abridged version of the award-winning For Love of Liberty: The Story of America’s Black Patriots will be screened at the New Jersey State Library, 185 West State St, Trenton, on Thursday, Feb. 23, from noon to 1 p.m.

New Jersey Governor Christie signs legislation to protect donations to libraries, make government "paperless"

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has approved legislation that prohibits municipal library trustees from transferring donated funds to municipalities. The legislation, sponsored by Assemblymen Craig Coughlin and Daniel Benson, and Senator Joseph Vitale, ensures that municipal libraries will be able to retain all funds donated through charitable gifts.

NJ State Library Supports Start Eating Healthy Day

The New Jersey State Library supported the American Heart Association’s Third Annual Start Eating Healthy Day on Nov. 2 by providing apple cider and a choice of a variety of apples to employees as a mid-morning snack. Apples were also distributed at the Talking Book & Braille Center in mid-afternoon.
