Using ILLiad to Request Books and Articles

ILLiad is the State Library’s program for requesting books and articles not in our collection from other lending institutions. ILLiad is available to State employees and TESU staff, students and mentors with an NJSL borrower’s card.

For State employees and TESU staff

  • We will place interlibrary loan requests with other libraries in the United States for work-related books and articles.
  • Requested journal articles will be accessible in the ILLiad portal.
  • Requested books can be retrieved at the Library or routed to your workplace.

For TESU students and mentors

  • Requested journal articles will be accessible in the ILLiad portal.
  • Requested books must be picked up and returned at the New Jersey State Library in Trenton; we do not mail ILL materials. If you do not live in the Trenton area, you can use your local public library to request books via interlibrary loan.
  • TESU students and mentors may check out a maximum of three ILL books at a time.
  • Because of the long-term nature of their use, we will not place requests for text books through interlibrary loan.
