Based upon requests from library staff across the state, the New Jersey State Library will be presenting a series of three active shooter training classes this summer. Camelot Security Associates, a firm comprised primarily of former New Jersey State Police, also conducted these classes for libraries in 2015. The instructors will be covering preparedness, evaluating your library’s strengths and weaknesses and how to draft an active shooter plan.
The classes will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon at the following dates and locations:
- July 17: Montville Public Library, 90 Horseneck Road, Montville
- July 18: Monmouth County Library System, 125 Symmes Road, Manalalpan
- July 19: Atlantic County Library System, Hammonton Branch, 451 South Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton
The maximum class size is 50 at each location. The cost for the class is $10 per person and covers light morning refreshments.
