Overview & Eligibility
The New Jersey State Library is accepting applications for the 5th Annual Multicultural Program Award. The purpose of the Multicultural Program Award is to recognize and encourage library programs that increase understanding and promote multiculturalism in New Jersey’s public libraries. The ultimate goal of this award is for libraries to develop long-term partnerships with community organizations that result in sustainable cultural programming. The focus will be on public libraries for this year. Programs offered within the last two years preceding the award application deadline shall be eligible to receive the award. Libraries who have been awarded in the past are ineligible for additional awards.
The award provides a $1,000 honorarium, a certificate and promotion of the winning library as a model program for other libraries. Three libraries will be honored during the NJLA Conference (State Librarian’s Breakfast), May 30 – June 1, 2018, Harrah’s Resort, Atlantic City.
