TBBC Recognized by Ocean County Freeholders

Commendation for TBBC from the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the Library Equal Access Program

For years, the New Jersey State Library Talking Book & Braille Center has partnered with the Ocean County Library Commendation for TBBC from the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the Library Equal Access Program (OCL) to serve Ocean County residents with vision impairments.  Our recent partnership on the Library Equal Access Program (LEAP), sponsored by the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, caught the eye of the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freehholders. At a ribbon cutting for the LEAP assistive technology center at the Toms River branch of OCL on October 19th 2016, Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari presented TBBC with a commendation.  It reads “This Board extends its gratitude to the N.J. State Library Talking Book and Braille Center as it partners with the Ocean County Library to assist our citizens who are experiencing vision loss. Through the Library Equal Access Program you are helping to promote independence for older adults with vision impairments. Through this initiative adults with vision changes will be introduced to assistive technology allowing them to keep connected with family and friends.”
