Teri Taylor Appointed Associate Director of State Library Information Center – September 29, 2022

September 29, 2022, Trenton, NJ – New Jersey State Librarian Jen Nelson has announced that Teri Taylor has been named the new Associate Director of the State Library Information Center (SLIC), New Jersey’s research library serving state government, Thomas Edison State University, and registered borrowers. Under the direction of the SLIC Director, Taylor will lead key library services and programs in the unit, and work collaboratively with library staff to increase the visibility and promote the value of the Library to state government departments and officials.

Taylor has provided library supervision and reference services in New Jersey since 1999, and brings extensive experience to the position. Most recently, Taylor served as a supervising librarian at the New Jersey State Library since 2017, and the U.S. Documents Collection Coordinator since 2005.  During her time as the U.S. Documents Collection Coordinator, she was appointed by the Director of the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) to serve a 3-year term as a member of the Depository Library Council which advised the GPO Director and the Superintendent of Documents.

Her previous library experience also includes working as the Foundation Collection Supervisor at the New Jersey State Library and as a Senior Librarian at the Camden County Library System, in Voorhees, New Jersey.

The Lawnside, NJ, resident earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, and her Master’s in Library Science from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. Taylor is a member of the New Jersey State Data Center Advisory Committee and the New Jersey State Library Digitization Committee.  She is also a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and ALA’s Government Documents Roundtable.
