Databases

The Research Library provides access to a wide variety of electronic databases on topics useful to state government. Remote access to subscription databases is limited to authorized users (state employees and, unless otherwise noted, Thomas Edison staff and students) with a New Jersey State Library card.

New Jersey residents may use JerseyClicks databases, which are licensed for statewide use, typically with no library card required. We also recommend many federal and authoritative databases that are free to the public. Visitors to the State Library may access databases on our public computers.

Copyright notice: Databases and electronic resources, both licensed for our New Jersey State Library card holders and free through government sources, may contain copyrighted content.  Transmission or reproduction of items beyond that permitted by Fair Use requires the permission of the copyright owners.  It is the user’s responsibility to determine and comply with all restrictions based upon the intended use of the materials. All users are expected to respect the intellectual property rights of licensed material. Failure to do so may result in loss of access.

Unless otherwise permitted by applicable law or the terms governing access to the content, copyrighted content may not be used with an artificial intelligence tool in a manner that substantially reproduces or redistributes the copyrighted material, or creates a product or service that substitutes for the copyrighted material.
