Small Business Workshops at Your Library

The New Jersey State Library is working with the New Jersey Division of Taxation’s Taxation University to bring business training to local libraries.  Beginning in October, libraries across New Jersey will be hosting the Small Business Workshops to educate local business owners and entrepreneurs about starting and registering businesses in the state.

Business Registration & Reporting Business Income (100 minutes)

This course will teach you about:

  • Different business structures
  • Registering a business in New Jersey
  • Legal entity vs. individual structured business registration
  • How to report your New Jersey business income

The New Jersey Sales Tax Seminar (100 minutes)

This course will teach you about:

  • Taxable products and services
  • New Jersey Exemption Certificates
  • Collecting New Jersey Sales Tax
  • Filing Sales and Use Tax returns

Online Businesses and New Jersey Sales Tax (100 minutes)

This course will teach you about:

  • Taxable products and services
  • Sales inside and outside of New Jersey
  • Shipping products
  • Collecting New Jersey Sales Tax
  • Filing Sales and Use Tax returns

New Jersey Sales Tax & Online Businesses Presentation (100 minutes)

This course will teach you about:
