Visit the NJ State Library to View the New NJ250 Exhibit This August

As part of our NJ250 celebration, you’re invited to step into our state’s constitutional past by visiting the NJ State Library’s brand-new in-person exhibit, an extension of our NJ250: Living Documents, Evolving Rights digital exhibit.

Curated by State Library staff using materials from our Jerseyana and New Jersey Documents collections, this exhibit explores the three major eras of New Jersey’s constitutional history: the Revolutionary Era, the Reform Era, and the Modern Era.

Discover how New Jersey’s constitutions evolved over time in response to changing ideas about democracy, voting rights, and human decency. Through historical documents, fascinating stories, and little-known facts, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of how New Jersey helped shape the rights and freedoms we know today.

The exhibit is currently on display on the Library’s 4^th floor.
