Children and teens throughout the state of New Jersey, with a print disability, are eligible to borrow from the NJ state Library Talking Book and Braille Center’s (TBBC) large print books collection.
TBBC has the largest collection of large print books for children and teens in the state. Our requirements for borrowing large print books have recently changed, making it even easier to get these books mailed to you at home or at school.
Please call or email us to sign up to borrow these books.
Borrowing Large Print Books

If you are not yet a patron of TBBC and want to borrow these books, please contact us at 1-800-792-8322 ext 823 or email tbbcyouth@njstatelib.org.
You may also apply for services by filling out an application. Find applications here.
Once you are a patron of TBBC, we can mail books to your home, school, or both.
Finding Books
Registered patrons can visit our Online Catalog to find and request large print books. Patrons can access the Online Catalog by clicking the link, selecting NJ1A – Trenton from the drop down menu, and then entering their patron ID and password.
First time users must contact the library for their initial login ID and password by calling 800-792-8322 ext 0 or by email at tbbcyouth@njstatelib.org.
TBBC has put together lists of some of the large print books that can be borrowed from us. No ID or password is needed to look at these lists. Please keep in mind that these lists don’t include every single large print book we have: a list that long would be hundreds of pages!
TBBC is regularly adding new books to its collection!
