Learn the Legal Resources of the NJSL

No matter who you are or what you do, it is always beneficial to have a familiarity of the law. Laws dictate our day to day lives, helping to keep us safe and structure the many components of our society. There is also a richness to learning the law, offering a more intimate perspective on the inner workings of our state and nation. And here in the Capital City, we are in luck: the New Jersey State Library is one of only a few law libraries in the state of New Jersey to be open to the general public. And if you’ve ever wondered how to best take advantage of this tremendous resource, you won’t want to miss out on the New Jersey State Library’s latest upcoming webinar.

On Wednesday, February 28th, the New Jersey State Library invites you to tune into their latest online presentation, “Legal Resources at the New Jersey State Library”. Guests will be joined by Kelsey Allen and Cynthia Lambert, NJSL Librarians currently serving in the library’s law department. This virtual conversation, which will be held on Zoom, will take place from 12pm to 1pm. As with all the NJSL webinars, this is completely free to attend, so feel free to tune in from anywhere to enjoy this insightful afternoon. Interested attendees should register in advanced by RSVPing on Zoom, linked here: Register – NJSL. Whether you’re a legal eagle or know nothing at all about the state of our law, all are welcome to come and find out about all the resources at hand.

Throughout the afternoon, Ms. Allen and Ms. Lambert will be walking guests through a comprehensive overview of all the NJSL’s law department has to offer. Some of the covered topics will include Law Library staff services, basic holdings, special collections, and electronic resources. Kelsey Allen has been a member of the NJSL Law Department since 2019, shortly after graduating from Drexel with her MLIS. Meanwhile, Cynthia Lambert joined the NJSL Law Department in 2017 with a specialization in NJ Legal Research. With these two experts at the helm, you’ll need more than a legal pad to take down this wealth of knowledge!

About Julia Giantomasi

I've had opportunities throughout my career to coordinate marketing and social media for live events and small businesses across various industries. I've enjoyed keeping up with the trends and using social media to not only promote quality services but create a sense of community. As the PR & Marketing Coordinator for the New Jersey State Library I can draw from these experiences in order to provide tips and best practices for libraries handling their own marketing and social media. I hope that I can be a resource to libraries across New Jersey as they engage with their communities.
